Contracts Engineer / Manager / CAD Engineer, West Bromwich, up to £45k My client is a design and manufacturing company in the heavy engineering sector. They produce metal fabricated products to a wide variety of customers throughout the UK. The position will involve: - *Producing Solid works / AutoCAD fabrication drawings and general arrangements drawings for client approval and compiling production / manufacturing instructions / bill of materials. *Assisting with clients requests to detail products and systems. *Collaborating with colleagues such as Technical Director, Purchasing Manager and Production Controller on pipework detailing and delivery scheduling. *Decision making on best detailing practice for client requests. *Liaising with clients to understand their goals and offering technical solutions to achieve the requirements. *Checking product detailing for quality and performance according to standards and client specifications. *Working to the Technical Department, adhering to company processes and procedures as part of the Quality Management System. *Ensuring product designs submitted by client are safe and confirm to any relevant legislation or industry regulations. *Overseeing contracts from order intake through to delivery, ensuring timelines and client requirements are met. *Allocating and prioritising workload across the office team (estimating, CAD, technical) to meet programme demands. *Managing day-to-day office operations including staffing, attendance, performance, and workflow control. *Acting as the central point of contact for contract queries, ensuring clear communication between departments and clients. *Monitoring contract progress, identifying risks or delays, and implementing corrective actions. *Supporting commercial control of contracts, including variations, scope changes and cost awareness. *Ensuring office activities align with production capacity and delivery schedules. The successful candidate will have proven CAD skill, experience gained within engineering / manufacturing, experienced in contract engineering / management. IT skills with excellent communication skills and ideally supporting qualifications. Management skills will be advantageous; this may suit somebody looking to develop into a manager.
