This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Teacher to work for Lawrence House School, which an Independent school attached to the company based in Huyton, Liverpool. We operate across 5 school sites, which cater for young people with a diverse range of complex needs, such as SEMH, neurodiversity and trauma-related behaviours
Lawrence House School is developing and keen to enhance the teaching team which supports children in residential care and therapeutic communities, to ensure that they are exposed to an exciting educational experience, through a cross curricular approach. You will, first and foremost, have to be able to use a wide range of strategies to engage students, and this position will appeal to those wishing to develop a career motivating and inspiring young people.
You will be expected to deliver chosen subjects and support your young people throughout the completion of the our school curriculum in which we cover Functional Skills English, Maths and IT, Open Awards Science and Art alongside Humanities, PSHCE, Languages and Outdoor Pursuits
You will teach on a one-to-one basis or with small groups with a maximum of 5.
You will need to be enthusiastic and self-motivated with a passion for teaching and learning.
Main Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the schools curriculum
* Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback and support where necessary
* Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that supports all pupils
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
* Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities
You will work within one of our exciting and bustling school sites utilising the excellent support systems in place. We have established teams on hand to guide you through experiences within each setting including Home Managers, Lead Teachers, Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Practitioners. You will need to possess qualified teacher status, but newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply. Whilst most of our students are secondary school age some are working below age related expectation, therefore experience of delivering a KS2-4 curriculum and Functional Skills would be advantageous but is not essential.
