* Base Salary: £34,000 (Depending on experience)
* Shift Allowance: 22% of base salary (added on top of the offered rate)
* On-Call: None (This role does not require on-call duties)
The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a dedicated estates team within a large-scale healthcare facility in Birmingham. You will plan, perform, and manage preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs for complex mechanical systems to ensure continuous site operation. This is a high-pressure, rewarding environment that requires a proactive approach to engineering and a high standard of technical workmanship.Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs on wide-scale mechanical plant.
* Service and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs).
* Operate and troubleshoot Boilers, Calorifiers, and associated plantroom equipment.
* Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure optimal environmental conditions.
* Ensure all work is compliant with Health & Safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols.
* Maintain accurate digital logs of all works completed during the shift.
Candidate RequirementsWe are looking for professionals with a solid foundation in large-scale commercial mechanical maintenance.Experience & Background:
* Essential: A proven track record in a Commercial FM or Construction environment.
* Preferred: Experience working within a Healthcare/Hospital setting (HTM knowledge is a distinct advantage).
* Note: Candidates with a purely domestic background will not be considered for this role.
Technical Qualifications:
* Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or Heating & Ventilation.
* Formal training in pressurized systems and plantroom safety.
* Strong diagnostic skills across varied HVAC and steam/water systems.
