Overview
Barclays – Retail Banking Business Banking Degree Apprenticeship – Knutsford. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in Retail and Business Banking as part of a Financial Services Professional Degree Apprenticeship. You’ll work while studying, gain professional qualifications, and build long-term career foundations with Barclays.
In Retail Banking, we create and deliver brilliant experiences for Barclays customers, from savings accounts to investments and digital banking. Through Business Banking, we support over a million UK SMEs by delivering guidance and building lasting relationships that help businesses grow.
Responsibilities
* Execution of small research projects and preparation of presentations and reports to communicate findings, collaborating with senior management to implement insights for retail banking.
* Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
* Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, and management of deployment and launch of new products and services for retail banking.
* Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support, responding to questions, processing transactions, and resolving complaints.
* Development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support decision making for retail banking.
* Training and mentoring of junior colleagues.

* Perform prescribed activities in a timely and high-standard manner.
* Work within defined procedures and collaborate with team members.
* Identify and escalate policy breaches as required and take responsibility for customer service and risk management within your area.

* Develop ability to evaluate options and make judgments based on factual information.
* Build relationships with stakeholders and customers to address needs and handle sensitive issues as required.
Eligibility and Requirements
* 3 A-levels at BBB (or equivalent) and GCSE Mathematics grade 6 and English Language grade 4.
* Commitment and enthusiasm; willingness to work hard, push yourself, and grow with Barclays’ support.

* Step 2 – You’ll be asked to complete online assessments.
* Step 3 – You’ll complete a survey to confirm eligibility.
* Step 4 – Attend a virtual or in-person assessment day (this will take place from November 2025).
* Step 5 – Outcome notification and feedback.

You’ll have the opportunity to earn while working towards a Financial Services Professional Degree Apprenticeship, with a full-time salary in a permanent role. The programme includes support from a Programme Support Manager and a specialist mentor, plus the potential to explore different career paths within Barclays. Closing date: 31 October 2025. Annual salary: £25,000 + benefits.
