Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a conscientious and supportive administrator to join our busy and dedicated team based within the Ridgeway at Roseberry Park.

Roseberry Park is an inpatient forensic mental health unit providing services and delivering care to the Tees Valley area. This unit is situated on Marton Road, Middlesbrough and benefits from free on-site parking and is easily accessed by car, bus and bicycle.

As a member of the Ridgeway Admin Team, you will work in an office at the centre of a ward. The office is an area of high activity, and no two days are the same. You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

Whilst having previous experience in an administrative role is essential, NHS or other health care experience is not. We are first and foremost looking for individuals with a passion for people, customer service experience, an interestin working in a health care setting and a 'can do' attitude.

The Ward Team Administrator role is pivotal in the day-to-day operations of the ward teams. As part of this role, you will work closely with the Nursing team, Consultants, Medics and the wider Ridgeway Service teams to provide the best possible care to the service user(s).

We are looking for someone who is able to multitask in a busy environment, communicate confidently, prioritise their workload, meet deadlines and build strong working relationships with a variety of people.

Qualifications

Essential

6. Level 3 Qualification in relevant field or equivalent experience or willingness to work towards Level 3 in Business Administration.
7. Key skills/functional skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 OR O Level (Grade C and above/New GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 to 9) are an essential requirement to be fully competent in the role. Where an applicant does not have the above qualifications or are unable to provide evidence of the certification, the applicant MUST achieve the required standards during their probationary period.

Desirable

8. Level 3 in Business Administration.
9. RSA Level 2 or equivalent Secretarial/administrative experience in a clinical environment.

Experience

Essential

10. Experience of working in an administrative environment (diary management, filing systems, meeting coordination, minute talking, data input, collating and presenting information).
11. Customer Service experience (face to face, answering calls, correspondence).
12. Experience of organising completing demands and workloads.
13. Experience of setting up and maintenance of administrative systems and processes.
14. Experience of working autonomously and proactively.

Desirable

15. Experience of supporting/supervising staff.
16. Experience of handling monies and working within financial guidelines.

Knowledge

17. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
18. Understanding of data protection and the need for confidentiality and how to maintain this.
