Job Description: BioAI Scientist
My client is seeking an exceptional BioAI scientist to lead and contribute to the development of foundational models aimed at discovering novel biomarker insights and advancing biologics discovery and development.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the development and training of foundational models, applied to single cell, spatial biology, genomics, and related multi-omics.
Your Tasks
1. Build and apply advanced AI models (e.g., transformers, VAEs, large-scale foundation models, and self-supervised or multimodal architectures) to support biological research.
2. Develop, refine, and optimize AI systems and tools, focusing on multi-omics and single-cell data.
3. Utilize deep knowledge of single-cell and spatial data from various tissues and disease types, using public resources (e.g., HCA) and internal datasets, to acquire, curate, and prepare datasets.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the practical applicability of these models in biological contexts.
Your Profile (ESSENTIAL)
* PhD degree in a relevant field (Machine Learning, AI, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Physics, etc.)
* Extensive knowledge of multi-omics datasets, with a focus on single-cell and spatial biology
* Expertise in utilizing GPUs for AI/ML model training
* An exceptional publication record in AI method development for biology (e.g., NeurIPS, Nature, etc.)
* Strong software development skills, including Python (and relevant libraries), cloud infrastructure, etc.
* Highly motivated to work at the forefront of innovation and eager to develop next-generation BioAI technologies to significantly impact patient lives.
Additional Notes
* Open to exceptional EU applicants; support for relocation to Cambridge, UK, is available.
* Role requires weekly onsite presence in Cambridge, UK.
