Senior Biomedical Scientist – Blood Transfusion
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the performance of manual, semi-automated, specialist, and fully automated laboratory investigations within a defined service area accurately and efficiently.
2. Oversee stock control and usage on a daily basis.
3. Manage quality control procedures and process quality control materials as per established protocols.
4. Implement and propose policies for service improvement, considering potential impacts beyond the immediate area.
5. Ensure validation of highly specialised test results and escalate issues appropriately according to protocols.
6. Maintain and set up equipment, including highly specialised instruments, to achieve optimal performance and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
7. Perform advanced troubleshooting during technical failures using professional judgment.
8. Participate in research and development, clinical trials, and equipment testing.
9. Maintain Blood Transfusion stock levels and records, monitoring usage for efficiency.
