We are looking for a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist to join the BBC as a Senior Wellbeing Manager. You'll be working in a fast-paced media environment, supporting teams who often operate in high-risk and demanding settings.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

At the BBC, we inform, educate and entertain audiences worldwide. Our people—journalists, producers, content makers, and support staff—are at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to their mental health and wellbeing, fostering a creative and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. Joining our team means being part of a mission-driven organisation that values integrity, creativity, and care.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

* Lead the strategic development and delivery of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the BBC.
* Provide expert clinical advice and psychological support to teams exposed to wellbeing risks, especially in journalism and newsgathering.
* Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Editorial teams to identify and mitigate psychological risks in the workplace.
* Design and implement proactive interventions that promote psychologically healthy working environments.
* Support critical incident responses and trauma-informed care following major news events.

* Use data and research to evaluate impact and continuously improve wellbeing programmes.

Essential Criteria

* HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with substantial post-qualification experience.
* Proven track record of applying psychological principles in complex, high-pressure environments.
* Deep understanding of the psychological risks associated with journalism, trauma exposure, and/or frontline reporting.
* Strategic thinker with experience in designing and delivering organisational wellbeing programmes.

Desired But Not Required

* Experience working within media or similarly dynamic industries.
* Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices in global or cross-cultural contexts.
* Familiarity with data-driven approaches to wellbeing programme evaluation.
* Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in workplace wellbeing.

If you can bring some of these skills and experiences, along with transferable strengths, we'd love to hear from you and encourage you to apply. Please note, the successful candidate will be mapped to the role of Clinical Psychologist.

Before your start date, you may need to disclose any unspent convictions or police charges, in line with our Contracts of Employment policy. This allows us to discuss any support you may need and assess any risks. Failure to disclose may result in the withdrawal of your offer.
