Kingston Vets, Sherborne, Sherborne, South West
Salary Up To £65,000 FTE DOE plus relocation allowance up to £3,000 and welcome bonus up to £5,000
For over 100 years, Kingston Vets has been at the heart of the local community, earning a reputation as a trusted and progressive small animal practice. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team who enjoys clinical autonomy and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of the practice.
A Caseload That Challenges and Rewards
Our varied caseload includes cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries, with a strong emphasis on case continuity and high clinical standards. You’ll enjoy a balanced mix of consultations and surgery, with routine work alongside orthopaedics, dental procedures, splenectomies and a wide range of more complex medical and surgical cases. This is a role where you can truly take ownership of your cases, follow them through and take pride in delivering excellent clinical outcomes.
Modern Facilities Across Two Well‑Equipped Sites
Operating across two purpose‑built practices in Sherborne and Yeovil, you’ll have access to excellent facilities at both sites. These include digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopic equipment and separate cat and dog wards with isolation. We’re also proud to hold Silver ISFM status, reflecting our commitment to delivering exceptional feline‑friendly care.
A Working Pattern That Supports You
This is a full‑time role working 8:30 am – 6:30 pm across four days, with a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota (8:30 am – 12:30 pm). There are no out‑of‑hours or on‑call commitments, giving you the time to fully enjoy life outside of work.
A Team That Supports and Develops
You’ll be joining a collaborative and experienced team of six vets, six RVNs, two SVNs and a dedicated client care team. We also benefit from the support of a visiting orthopaedic specialist for more complex cases.
We actively encourage professional development and are happy to support certificates or further training aligned with your clinical interests.
A Location That Offers Balance and Lifestyle
Yeovil and Sherborne offer the perfect blend of countryside living and modern convenience. With beautiful rural surroundings, historic market towns and excellent local amenities, the area provides a fantastic quality of life.
