Bring data to life and help shape the future of retail at Asda

We’re looking for a Visualisation Engineer to join our friendly and collaborative Data Team. If you enjoy turning data into clear, meaningful stories that help people make better decisions, this could be the perfect role for you.

You’ll be part of one of our Agile data squads, working closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Analysts, and Architects. Together, you’ll build reliable, scalable reporting solutions that support Asda’s strategic goals—and help us make data more accessible and useful across the business.

What you’ll be doing

* Designing and building Power BI dashboards and reports that are both insightful and easy to use.
* Helping to shape and optimise semantic models to improve performance and user experience.
* Working with cloud tools like Azure and Databricks to support data visualisation processes.
* Applying best practices in Power BI development, including DAX and visual design.
* Collaborating with colleagues to understand their needs and bring data to life in meaningful ways.
* Looking for ways to improve how we work—whether that’s through automation, self-service, or better design.
* Keeping an eye on performance and helping to resolve any issues that arise.
* Supporting data governance and quality standards, with guidance from senior team members.
* Staying curious and up to date with the latest in data visualisation and Power BI.

What you’ll bring

* Experience building data solutions and transforming data for reporting.
* A solid understanding of Power BI (or similar tools) and a passion for creating great user experiences.
* Familiarity with SQL, and ideally some exposure to Python or PySpark.
* Experience with Azure Data Services and platforms like Databricks.
* A collaborative mindset and experience working in Agile teams.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
* A willingness to learn and grow with new tools, technologies, and ways of working.

Why join us?

At Asda, we’re building a data-driven future—and we’d love you to be part of it. You’ll join a supportive team where your ideas are valued, your growth is encouraged, and your work has real impact. Whether you’re refining a dashboard or helping shape our visualisation strategy, you’ll be making a difference every day.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours, flexible working arrangements, or job share opportunities.

If you have any questions about the role, then please email clare.tempest@asda.uk
