Job description:
Experienced Marine Project Manager required to join Foreship UK, a leader in ship design and architecture consulting, to support its continued growth strategy. You will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of multiple concurrent client projects, ensuring scheduling, budgets, costs and risks are managed in line with contractual objectives.
This is a challenging and complex role, managing up to 10 (and growing) client projects concurrently. It requires multi-faceted stakeholder engagement, ensuring resources and finances are shared effectively, delivering optimal customer satisfaction.
The portfolio of projects is broad, including naval architecture, vessel stability, sustainability, fuel optimisation, and regulatory compliance for a range of vessel classes including ferries, yachts and other large special purpose vessels and naval ships.
Based out of our Southampton office, Foreship UK operates a hybrid working model, though you will be required to travel or shipboard across the UK and internationally occasionally.
Responsibilities:
Make strategic project decisions, providing strong leadership and direction for both external clients and Foreship Engineering Managers.
Manage utilisation depending on project priority; define and deliver resourcing strategies (both remote and local) ensuring projects progress on time and within budget.
Lead and coordinate project office taskings including project scheduling, invoicing, budgeting, time sheets, project and reviews/reports.
Manage change management procedures in the event client requirements change.
Build, maintain and sustain excellent relationships with clients (internal and external).
Support business development with opportunity identification and proposal development.
Profile description:
Required Qualifications & Experience
B.Sc./M.Sc. in either Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
At least 5 years of experience managing projects and project teams.
Passenger ships (cruise/ferry) knowledge preferred.
Demonstrable management of project scheduling, budgeting/costing, change management and risk management and reviews.
Experience in technicalreportwriting, proposalpreparation and concisepresentations.
Strong customer relationship building / management track record in high pressure environments.
Excellent computer skills (i.e. MS Project, Excel, PLM, CRM), including basic knowledge of CAD software.
You must be a British citizen or have the right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
