Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering firm established over 30 years ago, specializing in test coordination and industrial commissioning. TES also assists its clients with design studies and coordination of industrial equipment assembly.
We have a position available for a Piping Engineering Construction – NDT CEL (f/m) for the Hinkley-Point EPR project in the UK.
This role involves delivering engineering support for managing the HPC Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) contract, which is separate from the MEH installation contract. The scope includes standard NDT processes such as Radiography, Ultrasonic Testing, Dye Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and specialized NDT like Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT).
Dimensions:
* MEH End to End Engineering team: approximately 120 engineers
* Piping Engineering team: approximately 40 engineers
* Piping Construction Engineering team: currently 9 engineers, with plans to grow based on workload
* Budget responsibilities include managing the MEH JV (installation company), owned by the Programme Senior Project Manager, with a base scope of £800m for piping, electrical, and HVAC installation, and efficient resource management within defined budgets.
Principal Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with the NDT Contract Project Manager and Technical Lead
* Support documentation management by producing and updating the List of Documents Required from the contractor and the Surveillance Plan
* Develop and implement on-site PAUT solutions to replace radiography
* Respond to technical queries and early warnings
* Coordinate activities between the Installation contract and NDT contract
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in NDT and/or contract engineering roles
* Meticulous and rigorous engineering approach to achieve high standards
* Ability to deliver engineering projects safely, on time, and within budget in a fast-paced environment
* Strong leadership skills to coordinate team efforts and draw support from the organization
* Influence skills for stakeholder management
* Autonomous work capability with awareness of limitations
* Knowledge of contractual and commercial mechanisms
* Basic knowledge of different NDT techniques
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in a related engineering field
* Chartered Engineer status
* Understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations
* Piping engineering, installation, or commissioning experience
* French language skills are an advantage
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations
* Experience or certification in Ultrasonic Testing
