£26,266 (£13.47 per hour) full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
Job Description
We are looking for a Funeral Arranger to support families during their bereavement. The role involves preparing, transportation and personal care of the deceased, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, managing client documentation, arranging funeral services and supporting claim processes. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community, supporting clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
* Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming; report and record maintenance issues.
* Use digital systems and devices (computers, tablets, smartphones) to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
* Assist with manual handling of coffins and help in the preparation of the deceased for viewing (hair, makeup, etc.).
* Update client management applications with accurate and timely information.
* Support funeral plan arrangements and the Funeral Plan Arrangers when needed.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Comfortable working with numbers and cash handling, discounts, invoicing.
* Attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring regulatory policies and processes are adhered to.
* Good IT skills, able to use computers, tablets, smartphones, printers and to learn new applications.
* Empathy, discretion, and care when dealing with families.
* Physical ability to carry out the physical elements of the role, including moving coffins; appropriate training and equipment will be provided.
