Our client is a key division within a well-established Group of businesses, with a primary focus on supporting its successful development and house building operations through the strategic promotion and acquisition of land. Backed by strong financial resources and led by a highly experienced Director, this is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and ambitious Senior Planner to join a growing and dynamic team.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and promoting strategic land opportunities across the region. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing planning advice, managing planning applications, and helping to shape the long-term land strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage planning appraisals for land acquisition opportunities.
* Prepare and submit planning applications and strategic representations.
* Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants to promote strategic sites.
* Monitor local plan progress and assess policy implications for the business.
* Support the land team in identifying opportunities aligned with the Group’s development pipeline.
* Provide strategic planning advice to internal departments and external partners.
Candidate Profile:
* MRTPI qualified with relevant experience in planning, preferably in strategic land or residential development.
* Ideally, you will have experience within a housebuilder or developer environment, though high-calibre candidates from planning consultancies will also be considered.
* A strong understanding of the UK planning system, particularly in relation to strategic land and local plan processes.
* Commercially aware, solution-focused, and able to operate autonomously or within a team.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
