Your New JobWe are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to join a specialist primary provision in Salford. This is a temporary role to start ASAP, with the potential to be permanent for the right candidate. You will support pupils aged 5–11 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as other special educational needs (SEN), helping them access learning in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored interventions, manage behaviour positively, and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

We work with a wide range of mainstream and specialist settings, including PRUs, SEMH schools, and alternative provisions. This particular school is a primary pupil referral unit (PRU) located in Salford. It provides a therapeutic and highly supportive environment for children who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. The school focusses on emotional regulation, behaviour support, and re-engagement with learning. Staff aremitted to helping pupils develop resilience, confidence, and the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. What You'll Need to Succeed
1. Experience working with children with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs (in schools, care, or youth settings).
2. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
3. Strongmunication and teamwork skills.
4. Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional wellbeing.
5. A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
