A respected and well-established educational organisation based in Plymouth is seeking a proactive and hands-on Finance Manager to join their team. Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day finance operations within an education setting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. You will manage ledgers, lead month-end processes, and support the production of statutory accounts. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including fee-related transactions.
2. Preparing monthly reconciliations and assisting with budgeting and forecasting for the academic year.
3. Maintaining cashflow forecasts and submitting VAT returns.
4. Liaising with auditors and supporting the annual audit process.
5. Driving improvements in systems and processes to enhance efficiency andpliance.
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience in a finance or accountancy role, ideally within education or a similar sector.
7. Strong technical skills with advanced Excel and experience using accounting systems (Sage desirable).
8. Excellentmunication skills and ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including academic and administrative teams.
9. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or part-qualified with relevant experience).
10. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to managepeting priorities in a term-based environment.
