Fort Vale Engineering Ltd, based in Simonstone are the World Leader in the design and manufacture of valves and fittings for the transportation of bulk liquids in the tank container, road tanker and rail industries. We are currently looking for a Skilled Welder / Fabricator to join the team in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
The Role: Skilled Welder / Fabricator
* Permanent and full time (38 hours per week)
* Predominantly working on the Night Shift (Mon to Thurs 10pm – 7:30 am)
Main Tasks
* Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
* Use welding equipment to fuse metal pieces using MIG/MAG and TIG processes
* Use of hand fettling/grinding tools
* Complete quality documents
* Fabrication and assemble sheet metal products
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to read engineering drawings and engineering quality plans
* Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment
* Time management skills
* Good verbal communication and listening skills
* Ability to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions
Experience / Knowledge
* Knowledge of Welding Equipment both MIG/MAG & TIG, and be proficient in assigned welding techniques
* Prior experience of operating robot welders would be advantageous
* Seam Weld experience would be preferred
* Experience of using laser equipment is desirable
Qualification
* Time served Welder/Fabricator
