A vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity to join our newly designed team to deliver Nurse-led diagnostics in cancer care.
Responsibilities
* Drive, lead, and demonstrate advanced autonomous nursing practice with assessment and diagnostic skills for patients referred with a possible cancer diagnosis.
* Coordinate diagnostic processes, including appointment scheduling, clinical assessment, consent, imaging reviews, and non-invasive endoscopy procedures (e.g., capsule sponge) and communicating results.
* Provide a comprehensive diagnostic pathway for patients suspected of having cancer and manage patients on this pathway to the point of diagnosis and onward referral/liaison with other services (e.g., Clinical/Medical Oncology).
* Develop and perform non-invasive endoscopy procedures requiring specialist skills and equipment; train junior staff in these skills.
* Provide clinical leadership to support Consultants in delivering high-quality patient care and achieving optimal clinical outcomes.
* Act as an innovator, motivator, and role model to support and influence cancer service pathway redesign, including quality improvement, implementation of national initiatives, and service reconfiguration.
* Maintain professional behaviour and promote a positive image of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in line with World Class care and Trust values.
* Demonstrate clinical expertise in cancer diagnostics and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet the needs of the diagnostic pathway, ensuring patients benefit from a nurse-led approach to care.
* Independently receive and make referrals and lead on the management of a caseload for 2WW patients, treatment and diagnosis follow-up across health care settings.
