The Met Office is delighted to open our advertising for Industrial Placements 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Met Office on a 12-month Year in Industry placement, commencing at the start of July 2026, developing your skills and knowledge and ensuring you gain the most value possible from your experience with us.

You will have the opportunity to network with our cohort of Industrial Placements all over the Met Office and understand what career opportunities are on offer at the Met Office after you graduate .

We’re looking for two Digital Content and User Experience Industrial Placements 2026to help us make a difference to our planet.

As our Digital Content and User Experience Industrial Placement 2026, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home.This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work. As an Industrial Placement, we would expect you to attend the office once a week as a minimum.

Our Industrial Placement scheme offers ambitious and capable undergraduates the opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside diverse and highly skilled experts in their field. You’ll be working on projects that really matter and will make a difference.

As our Digital Content and User Experience Industrial Placement, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with our industry‑leading digital teams. You will work closely with our skilled designers, developers, and digital experts to contribute to projects that help shape the way users interact with our digital platforms and engage with our content. You will be part of a collaborative team that values creativity, innovation, and fresh perspectives.

As our Digital Content and User Experience Industrial Placement, your key responsibilities are:

* Manage and deliver keyword research as well as supporting ad‑hoc content and SEO projects.
* Act as product specialist for the website CMS.
* Supportthe development of a website content strategy and governance design.
* Supportthe SEO and Digital Content Manager to design and deliver CMS and accessibility training, promoting best practice across the organisation.
* SupportDigital Product Managers in delivering value to the users of the Met Office App and Website.
* Support the User Experience Manager gaining insights from our users to feed development.

Your package includes:

* Your salary will be £27,170
* Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days

Whilstthis is a temporary position until July 2027, there may be an opportunity to apply for our Graduate Development scheme upon completion of your university studies.However, this is not guaranteed and would be subject to programme availability and a successful application.

Essential Criteria, skills and experience:

* Is studying for an undergraduate degree with a significant marketing or digital marketing focus.
* You can demonstrate your interest in digital content, user experience, and search engine optimisation (SEO)
* You have excellent written communication skills.
* Youkeep evolvingwith experience of pro‑activelymanaging multiple projects or tasks and working well under pressure.
* You can work better together in a team, building and maintain strong working relationships.
