Job Purpose: Ensure commodity functions and features within a domain are delivered and implemented with respect to full vehicle electrical architecture and programme deadlines across all build phases. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with Electrical Architecture & Commodity Teams to support the delivery of new/ existing features. Support issue resolution and where required the technical implementation of mitigation plans. Supports in engineering and technical reviews and escalation forums. Support “Bring To Life” workstreams for a particular domain across lab cars and first fleet vehicles through the Integration Point and Feature Implementation Process. Prototype build and production line and fleet “first line” support. Qualification & Experience: Experience of working in a technical automotive electrical application role. Knowledge of automotive architectures and communication protocols like CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet. Knowledge of the product development cycle with a focus on software deployment and integration. Awareness of automotive diagnostics standards (UDS, ISO 14229, DOIP) and tools. Basic working knowledge of one of the following domains: Powertrain, Chassis, ADAS, Body or Infotainment. Supporting issue resolution within a domain. Basic working knowledge of vehicle analysis using Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape or equivalent). Awareness of diagnostic commissioning and manufacturing processes is a benefit. Ability to read basic circuit diagrams. Ability to interpret requirements documentation. Prototype build and production line and fleet support. Basic understanding of Functional Safety and Cyber Security. Good written and verbal communication, including appropriate escalation and reporting where required Basic knowledge of scripting languages (such as CAPL, VBA, Python) is a benefit. Awareness of ODX (ISO 22901). Support of test properties such as rigs and lab cars. Knowledge of automotive development systems e.g. releasing, concerns, containments, gateways and sign off documentation Experience of one of the following commodities is preferred e.g. powertrain (including hybrid), chassis, infotainment, connectivity, audio, cluster & displays, tracker & e-call, antennas, switchgear, lighting, camera & PDCs, body electronics, power management, EDS. Awareness of automotive pre-production build environments: manufacturing processes, car configuration (feature coding), VCATS implementation. Technical engineering background and a knowledge of using calculation and analysis to drive design. Awareness of automotive quality tools and processes. Involvement in supplier meetings. Some experience in HiL and SiL is a benefit. Knowledge of issue management systems like eTrackers, Concerns, JIRA etc. Appropriate engineering degree or relevant experience.
