The Opportunity
The Queen at Chester is entering an exciting new chapter as it joins the Accor family as the UK’s first Handwritten Collection hotel. We’re looking for a hands‑on, people‑led Operations Manager to play a key role in this transformation and help shape the hotel’s future. This is a highly visible role for someone who loves hospitality, leads by example and thrives in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

* Monitoring performance, managing costs and identifying opportunities to improve revenue and guest satisfaction
* Acting as a senior point of contact for guests, handling feedback professionally and effectively
Benefits
* Our enviable employee discounts on bedroom rates across our Best Western hotel portfolio.
* Access to 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme – support and advice on any issues.
* Refer a friend scheme from £500 to £1000 per referral.
* Hospital Plan.
* Online Health Portal.

Who This Role Is For
* Proven experience in a senior hotel operations role, with the confidence to lead across departments
* Deep knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, with Meetings & Events seamlessly embedded into the overall guest journey
* Experience delivering successful conferences, events and banqueting operations that feel polished, personal and well‑coordinated
* A visible, hands‑on leadership style, spending time with guests and teams alike
* A strong personal commitment to quality, consistency and detail, particularly within bedrooms, housekeeping and public spaces
* A positive, inclusive leadership approach, with a natural ability to coach, inspire and develop others
* Excellent organisation and communication skills, balancing commercial awareness with people‑first decision making
* Experience in a branded hotel environment would be an advantage, though not essential – attitude, values and leadership matter most
If you’re a confident hotel leader who enjoys balancing people, performance and standards — and wants to make a visible impact on both guest experience and team culture — this role offers challenge, purpose and progression.
