Ruminant Livestock Research Scientist Location: Hillsborough Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Duration of placement: 12 months (possibility of extension) Salary: £37,694 per annum We are seeking a Ruminant Livestock Research Scientist to contribute to cutting-edge research in livestock production. This is a hands-on role involving both fieldwork and data analysis, offering the opportunity to make a real impact on sustainable agriculture and animal science. You will be responsible for: *Delivering scientific tasks within livestock production research projects *Conducting literature reviews and preparing reports/protocols *Recording and analysing scientific data *Handling livestock and agricultural equipment (outdoor activities included) *Preparing scientific outputs such as papers and presentations Candidate Requirements To be considered, you must have: *A PhD in agriculture, animal science, or a relevant biological science related to animals OR *A degree or higher qualification in agriculture, animal science, or a relevant biological science related to animals, plus at least 2 years experience in a research capacity post-qualification Additionally, candidates should demonstrate: *Proven experience conducting scientific studies involving animals *Strong skills in statistical analysis of scientific results *Experience presenting research findings to varied audiences (e.g. farmers, academics) *Evidence of at least one peer-reviewed paper published in a scientific journal (accepted or published) Why Apply?
