Join to apply for the Teacher (Modern Foreign Languages) role at Inspiration Trust

Salary: Qualified Teachers Pay Scales: Main Pay Scale (MPS) to Upper Pay Scale (UPS)

Start Date: September 2025

King Edward VII Academy is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Teacher (Modern Foreign Languages). This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative community of teachers and mentors who are dedicated to ensuring students develop the knowledge and character needed to lead great lives. Applications from Early Careers Teachers are welcomed and encouraged.

You will be part of a team that delivers a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum for students. You’ll monitor and support students’ progress and development and contribute to raising standards and attainment, whilst motivating and challenging students to achieve their very best. You will work with the department to contribute to improving and developing current curriculum resources.

Ofsted (October, 2024) stated: ‘The school expects high standards of pupils’ work and behaviour. It reminds pupils that every minute counts in meeting these standards. Pupils are rising to this challenge. They know that they attend an inclusive school that has improved rapidly. In the past, academic outcomes have been low. Now, however, the sense of ambition is abundantly clear. Lessons are engaging and focused. Pupils learn well.’

Before applying, please read the attached Recruitment Pack and Job Description, for more details about the role. We ask that you read this pack carefully, especially the “Planning your application” section from page 11. This will support your application ensuring you have the opportunity to tell us about your relevant skills, experience and qualifications that relate to the job description and person specification in addition to details of your references covering the last 5 years.

The main responsibility of this role will be:

* To ensure pupils receive an excellent education through the delivery of high-quality teaching
* To monitor and support overall progress and development of students as a teacher and therefore contribute to raising standards of student attainment
* To offer active support for the School’s Policy and Procedures

The ideal candidate will have:

* An appropriate degree and other qualifications required for the award of QTS.
* Qualified Teacher Status (trainees should be on track to achieve QTS before taking up the post).
* Experience of teaching the subject in a secondary school across the 11-16 age range.
* Experience of the wider role of a teacher in the personal development of pupils, including the main responsibilities of a form tutor.
* Knowledge of the statutory requirements concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection

King Edward VII Academy is a large, diverse, and comprehensive 11-18 school. The school is calm, orderly, and purposeful. The school’s culture is built around high expectations and consistent structures and routines; these enable teachers to focus on the subjects they love and are expert in.

King Edward VII Academy has a rich and prestigious history; thousands of students have walked the halls of the magnificent building all in pursuit of the same excellence that the academy strives for today.

In October 2024, King Edward VII Academy and Sixth Form received a Good rating from Ofsted for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development to effectiveness of leadership and management, with the report recognising the rapid positive change that has taken place across the academy.

The report mentioned that “the school’s curriculum is ambitious and ensures that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) access the curriculum alongside their peers. The curriculum sets out what pupils will learn and the correct order in which it is taught. High-quality training and support from the trust have led to precise teaching. Teachers use their strong subject knowledge to present new concepts clearly. Staff are invested in the school and the community. They feel well supported by leaders who manage their workload with sensitivity. They want the very best for pupils and are proud to work at the school.”

To view the report please visit the Ofsted Information page on the school website.
