Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 excellent benefits Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00 Type: Permanent We’re looking for a hands-on, driven Maintenance Manager who genuinely enjoys engineering — not just managing it from a distance. This is a role for someone who likes getting under the skin of how things work, spotting what others miss, and turning “that’s always how we’ve done it” into “here’s a better way.” You’ll be leading from the front in a fast-moving manufacturing environment where performance, reliability, and continuous improvement really matter. What you’ll be doing You’ll own the performance and reliability of key assets and equipment, making sure everything runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. But this isn’t just firefighting breakdowns — it’s about stepping back, seeing the bigger picture, and building a maintenance strategy that actually prevents problems in the first place. You’ll be using data, engineering judgement, and collaboration to make smarter decisions around maintenance, upgrades, and investment. Your work will directly influence how the site performs day-to-day and in the long term. What you’ll get stuck into Shaping and delivering maintenance and asset strategies that actually make a difference Using performance data to spot trends, fix root causes, and improve reliability Making smart calls on repair vs replace vs improve — with a focus on whole-life value Supporting business cases for investment in equipment and upgrades Digging into failures properly and making sure they don’t come back Keeping maintenance costs under control while improving performance Working closely with suppliers to make sure they deliver what they promise Making sure engineering standards and systems are solid, up to date, and useful Supporting audits and stepping in for senior engineering leadership when needed We’re not after someone who just “keeps things running.” We’re after someone who wants to improve how things run.
