We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Lead Electrician to join our dynamic Walsall Street Lighting account in Walsall. This role will be onsite at (WS10 8JR) and around Walsall.
This position offers a competitive salary dependent on qualifications and experience, standby payments (on a 1 in 4 rota), and overtime at 1.5 times the standard rate during standby periods.
Electricians are crucial for the Walsall Street Lighting account, ensuring proper installation and maintenance of street lighting to promote public safety and security. Their work helps prevent accidents, deter crime, and support local infrastructure, enhancing community safety and quality of life.
What You'll Do:
* Lead jobs and provide technical advice to other electricians
* Be a Quantity Surveyor (QS) and participate in the audit process
* Install and repair street lighting, signs, bollards, and feeders according to HEA and IEE 18th Edition wiring regulations
* Diagnose and replace failed components and attend routine faults
* Excavate for bollard and sign foundations
* Work outdoors in varying weather, ensuring security of tools and PPE
* Participate in out-of-hours emergency services on a call-out basis
* Attend training and toolbox talks, which may include overnight stays

What You'll Bring:
* Driving Licence (C1 desirable)
* City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
* Ability to work outdoors in challenging weather
* Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391) or HERS/HEA equivalent
* Experience with electrical installations in the public realm & highways
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Competence with Stihl saws & power tools
