The Role
WSP’s Land team is looking for talented Land professionals to join the largest and most successful team in the industry. The role involves supporting the delivery of land referencing, land access, stakeholder engagement, statutory processes and more across the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities
* Support teams in land referencing, land access, engagement, and statutory processes.
* Identify landowners, occupiers and other parties with an interest in land via land registry research.
* Liaise with landowners, agents, legal reps, authorities, stakeholders, contractors and clients.
* Work with multi‑disciplinary teams to secure land access for surveys.
* Contribute to the success of high‑profile infrastructure projects locally and across the UK and Ireland.
* Provide training and mentoring to junior colleagues and perform technical assurance of their work.
* Maintain commercial awareness of budget, scope, change control and project management activities.
* Represent the business at the Land Consultant level on client‑facing activities.
* Travel within the UK and Ireland and possibly to India for WSP’s Global Capability Centre.
Key Requirements
* Keen interest in land services, including land referencing, survey access and statutory processes.
* Experience delivering high‑quality outputs as part of multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder liaison skills.
* Ability to delegate and perform technical assurance.
* Drive and enthusiasm for strong technical work.
* Ability to travel to various sites regularly.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams and basic GIS/mapping tools.
* Knowledge of land ownership, management practices, and stakeholder engagement for infrastructure.
* Experience with UK statutory consents such as Bills, TWAs, DCOs, CPOs or Vesting Orders is an advantage.
* Experience with wayleave agreements is beneficial.

Variety of Work
Projects span GIS, data management, valuations, negotiations, referencing, access and project management. Day‑to‑day tasks include site activities, landowner engagement, access negotiations, client meetings, reporting and digital innovation.
The role is based in Leeds or Newcastle with hybrid working options. Candidates should ideally reside within North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, County Durham, Teesside, Tyne and Wear or North Lincolnshire.
