Our Client, a Merseyside council is seeking an Assistant Team Manager to join their Help & Protect Team.

Responsibilities of this role:
- Support the Team Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Early Help Support & Protection Team.
- Provide practice leadership, supervision, and guidance to social workers and family support staff to ensure high-quality interventions and positive outcomes for children and families.
- Ensure all work is child-centred, strengths-based, and compliant with statutory frameworks, including Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Assist in managing caseload allocation, workflow, and performance monitoring, ensuring timescales and service standards are met.
- Lead on complex cases, providing advice, decision-making oversight, and risk management.
- Support audits, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of practice.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including education, health, police, and voluntary services to deliver coordinated support.
- Contribute to service development, embedding early help strategies and preventative approaches within the team.
- Deputise for the Team Manager when required, including chairing meetings and representing the service.
- Promote a culture of learning, reflective practice, and professional development within the team.
Requirements of this role:
- Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
- Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
