About the Post
You will be an Engagement and Support Officer within the Employment & Skills team, supporting Barnsley residents to improve their employability through learning and employment. Your role involves promoting local Employment and Skills programmes, facilitating resident enquiry and participation in learning opportunities, and connecting individuals with suitable support. You will also maintain accurate records, celebrate learning outcomes, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to provide a seamless experience for residents.
What We’re Looking For
* Relevant level 2 qualification and/or willingness to work towards the L2 qualification in Information, Advice & Guidance.
* Commitment to flexible working and ability to engage hard‑to‑reach residents.
* Proactive, empathetic, and passionate about lifelong learning.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft applications.

* Has a confident approach and experience of communicating with a range of audiences, particularly the public.
* Can work independently without supervision.
* Can build strong relationships with residents and stakeholders alike.
* Is willing to travel to multiple venues and events across Barnsley.
