An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Same Day Emergency Care department to welcome a new Clinical Support Worker into our team.
Contract expiry note: This contract will expire on 3rd June 2026.
Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) is a fast paced, rapid assessment unit for medical patients referred by the Emergency Department, wards within the hospital and primary care. The unit aims to deliver high quality care to patients within the same day, when safe to do so, to avoid hospital admission and reduce ED attendances.
The right candidate will need to be motivated, eager to learn new skills, approachable and positive.
The unit’s working hours are:
* Monday to Friday 08:00–20:00
* Saturday 08:30–17:00
* Potential to open Sunday in the near future
As a Clinical Support Worker you will have a range of duties including:
* Prioritizing patient care
* Performing basic observations, patient weights, blood glucose levels and urinalysis
Additionally you will undertake more complex duties including:
* Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs
* Collating patient history and assisting with assessments
