As a Grounds Maintenance Apprentice, you will be an essential part of our team, working under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn all aspects of groundskeeping and landscape maintenance.
* Your day-to-day tasks will include mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and general upkeep of various outdoor spaces.
* You'll also learn how to operate a range of machinery and equipment, ensuring our sites remain safe, clean, and visually appealing.
* This apprenticeship is designed for someone who is enthusiastic about working outdoors in all weather conditions and has a keen interest in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance. It is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, practical skills, and a nationally recognized qualification in the industry.

Desired Skills & Qualities:
* We are looking for candidates who are hardworking, reliable, and willing to learn. You should have good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.
* Applicants must not already hold a level 2 in Horticulture/Landscaping

Training:
* Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
* The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.
* The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
* The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
* Depending on which apprenticeship pathway your employer chooses to offer within horticulture. You may also need to achieve all or a combination of the following courses before taking your end point assessment: Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work, Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance, Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides and Abrasive Wheel.
