GVR Solutions are working with a well-established specialist carpentry and joinery contractor based in Kent, delivering high-quality packages across the residential sector. Known for their craftsmanship, reliability, and long-standing client relationships, they are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support the next stage of their growth.
As Operations Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of the business, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This is a senior, hands-on role, working closely with directors, commercial teams, site managers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage multiple carpentry and joinery projects from pre-start through to completion
* Coordinate site teams, supervisors, and subcontract labour
* Ensure programmes, labour plans, and material schedules are effectively managed
* Drive health & safety compliance across all sites
* Monitor project performance, identifying risks and implementing solutions
* Liaise with clients, main contractors, and suppliers to maintain strong working relationships
* Support commercial performance alongside QS / commercial teams
* Contribute to continuous improvement of operational systems and procedures
Requirements:
* Proven experience in an Operations Manager / Senior Contracts Manager role
* Strong background within carpentry and joinery or interior fit-out
* Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Strong understanding of construction health & safety regulations
* Commercially aware with a problem-solving mindset
* Full UK driving licence
