Job Title: Supply Planner
Salary: £29,700-£38,550 per annum
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid
Contracts: x1 Full time, maternity cover until August 2027 & x1 Full time, maternity cover until June 2027
Hours: 35 hours per week
Cambridge University Press & Assessment is part of the University of Cambridge, a world‑leading academic publisher and assessment organisation. We are looking for two experienced production supply planning specialists to join a high‑impact team that supports the entire Academic catalogue.
About The Role
You will be responsible for planning print production for over 1000 new books each year, as well as managing the backlist and paperback re‑releases.
You will be required to:
* Find supply solutions to deliver high‑quality product on time with reference to budgetary and sustainability targets.
* Work closely with teams across the Academic department to ensure the best experience for our customers.
* Manage vendor relationships to ensure performance is maintained.
* Contribute to the continuing development of the team, growing your knowledge base and driving efficiency.
This position is a hybrid role; the selected candidate is expected to spend 40‑60% of their time collaborating face‑to‑face at a dedicated location. Other flexible working arrangements can be considered from the first day of employment.
About You
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of print manufacture and a strong background in project planning. You will work independently while supporting colleagues in a small, cross‑functional team.
You will also:
* Have demonstrable experience working with SAP or another ERP system to raise purchase orders and configure data.
* Be confident using large data sets to identify problems and provide solutions.
* Demonstrate an assured, collaborative communication style and be prepared to bring competing perspectives together to find compromise.
