Salary: £12.85 to £13.05 per hour (a higher range is offered to applicants with qualifications in health and social care). The role involves shift work and weekends on a rota basis. Choice Care offers a range of flexible positions to fit around personal commitments.
The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, while ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will liaise with seniors in the home and report any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and be willing to learn and expand your knowledge. The position offers opportunities to participate in days out, trips, and activities, while keeping residents safe, happy and engaged.
What are the responsibilities?
* Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
* Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home
* Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
* Executing tasks in a professional, timely and accurate manner
* Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
* Assisting residents in their daily activities whether in or away from the home
* Using initiative when supporting residents during activities and day-to-day tasks

Where will you work?
Stoke Lodge is a large detached house in a residential cul-de-sac, one mile from Basingstoke town centre. The home supports up to nine men with varying ages and learning needs, with a dedicated building for day activities, IT and art and crafts, a sensory area, and transport for local and longer trips.
