About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and curious Buying Assistant to support our buying team in identifying exciting brands, managing supplier relationships, and helping bring the best Asian beauty products to our customers.
You will play an active role in researching emerging brands, staying on top of industry trends, supporting brand partnerships, and helping the team manage vendor communications and product launches. This role is ideal for someone passionate about beauty and eager to build a career in buying within a fast-growing retail business.
Key Responsibilities
* Brand Research and Trend Scouting: Conduct ongoing research into industry trends, emerging brands, and new product launches. Monitor assortments and customer preferences to support the buying team in identifying new opportunities and brands with strong potential for Skin Cupid.
* Brand Outreach and Supplier Communication: Support the buying team in reaching out to prospective brand partners and maintaining communication with existing suppliers. Assist with coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and ensuring follow-ups are completed to maintain strong vendor relationships.
* Purchase Order Analysis and Management: Support the buying team to execute and prepare new purchase orders and make required changes to existing purchase orders. Track and analyse replenishment timeframes across suppliers and coordinate between the logistics team and external supplier partners to ensure on-time delivery of orders.
* Brand Onboarding and Product Setup: Support the onboarding of new brands and products by collecting required documentation, product information, and marketing assets. Ensure accurate product setup across internal systems and coordinate with internal teams to support smooth product launches.
* Reporting, Data Analysis, and Brand Performance Decks: Assist in analysing sales performance, product trends, and brand performance across channels. Support the preparation of performance reports, product deep dives, and brand presentations, including creating decks and reports to share insights with internal teams and brand partners.
* Cross-Team Coordination: Work closely with merchandising, logistics, marketing, and retail teams to ensure smooth communication across product launches, supplier partnerships, and operational processes.
What we are looking for:
* Passion for beauty and an eye for product trends, familiarity with Asian/Korean beauty is a bonus.
* Strong aspiration to start a career in buying

* Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Language proficiency in Korean, Japanese or Chinese is a bonus but not necessary.
