Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to join our modern toolroom facility. This is a key role responsible for producing high-quality press tooling to support our two on-site press shop operations. The position plays a critical part in ensuring that tooling meets the highest standards of precision, reliability, and quality in line with customer and regulatory requirements.
You will support the delivery of world-class manufacturing performance by providing expert grinding capabilities across both new and existing products—enhancing safety, quality, and delivery, while maintaining cost efficiency.
Your key responsibilities:
* Program, set, and operate a range of CNC grinding machines with precision, working to fine tolerances as required by tooling specifications.
* Produce high-quality press tooling that meets exacting standards and supports the performance of in-house press shop operations.
* Take responsibility for all aspects of CNC and manual grinding, ensuring machines are maintained, calibrated, and operated safely and effectively.
* Continuously improve grinding techniques and processes to optimise quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Development & Learning:
* The post holder will be expected to develop their understanding of new technologies by undertaking training when requested.
Education / Training
* Ideally qualified to HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Completed a recognised apprenticeship in grinding, precision engineering, or similar (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Knowledge / Experience
* Strong experience with CNC grinding machines and controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol).
* Skilled in manual cylindrical and surface grinding.
* Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software for CNC programming is desirable.
* Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
* Proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
* Solid awareness of workplace health & safety legislation
