Main duties of the job
You will be expected to work within all clinical areas within the Emergency Department and demonstrate a commitment to developing yourself and others within the team.
You will be required to attend and complete mandatory training online and face-to-face.
In addition, the department offers a comprehensive induction programme and role-specific training.

Job responsibilities
Assessment of patients of all ages attending the Emergency Department, SDEC.
Planning and delivery of nursing care that reflects current patient care needs.
Evaluation of care in collaboration with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
Involved in the care of trauma patients and resuscitation of critically unwell patients.
Accurate documentation of nursing care delivered.
Be a safe practitioner, aware of your own limitations, and report any areas of concern to a senior nurse.
Work effectively as part of a team.
Maintain awareness of and cooperate in meeting Accident and Emergency healthcare targets in the best interest of the patient.
Participate in teaching/training of junior staff.
Follow policies and procedures accurately for safeguarding children and adults.
Continuously develop skills and knowledge to become a competent Emergency Department nurse.
Use electronic systems, e.g., EPR, safely and in accordance with departmental policy.
Escalate concerns when care standards are below par.
Participate in ED-specific training, e.g., decontamination training.
Act within the medicines management trust policy.
Become competent in all aspects of the department, including resuscitation, majors, minors, and triage.
