About RNID
We are RNID: the national charity supporting the 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. We aim to end discrimination, improve hearing health, and fund research for hearing restoration and tinnitus relief. Our team is remote, with colleagues across the UK and NI, working flexibly and collaboratively.
The Role
The Audiology Adviser will be a key figure in establishing RNID as a trusted source for hearing health information, addressing current audiology challenges, and supporting service improvements through innovation and policy development.
Responsibilities
* Serve as an internal expert on hearing health, devices, and audiology, ensuring information is current and accurate.
* Create high-quality audiology and hearing health materials tailored to community needs.
* Provide audiological insights and support to internal teams.
* Assist in developing and implementing audiology policies and advocacy efforts.
* Represent RNID externally as needed, including media, stakeholders, and meetings.
Candidate Profile
We seek passionate individuals with deep audiology expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interpret complex information for diverse audiences. Candidates should be familiar with UK audiology services, especially within the NHS, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements
* BSc in Audiology or equivalent, with recent clinical experience in adult aural rehabilitation.
* Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex health info.
* Good knowledge of UK audiology services, especially NHS provision.
* Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of tinnitus management, hearing implants, and audiology policies across the UK.
