About the Role
As part of our continued growth, we're looking for a passionate and skilled Secondary Maths Teacher to join our close-knit team at Oakham Shires School, part of Options Autism. You'll be responsible for delivering GCSE Maths, supporting students across the school, and leading the subject as a Maths Subject Lead. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of autistic pupils who have struggled in mainstream education and need a tailored, compassionate approach.
What You'll Be Doing
* Teaching Maths up to GCSE level in small class groups (max. 6 pupils)
* Supporting learners with autism and developmental trauma, helping close gaps in learning
* Leading on the Maths curriculum and supporting cross-school development
* Adapting lessons to meet a wide range of abilities and individual needs
* Creating a calm, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
* Working with a team of passionate educators and therapists to help every child thrive
What We're Looking For
* QTS / BEd / PGCE or equivalent
* Proven experience of teaching Maths at GCSE level
* Experience supporting SEN and/or disadvantaged learners
* A compassionate, calm, and emotionally intelligent approach
* Understanding of autism, trauma-informed practices, and behaviour as communication
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Job Details
* Job Title: Secondary Maths Teacher

* Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum (depending on experience - not pro rata)
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
* Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
