Overview

We have an opportunity for a Senior Radiographer to join the Imaging department. This is a bank role, working on an as‑needed basis, supplementing staffing during busy periods or covering for staff on leave.
Duties
* Actively participate in efficient and safe operation of the Imaging Department, providing consistent, high‑quality service to all patients and visitors.
* Carry out general and specialised radiographic procedures within scope of competence, ensuring high technical and quality standards, assessing patients and interpreting clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
* Undertake imaging examinations in line with departmental policies, using techniques that produce the lowest possible radiation dose while achieving diagnostic images.
* Practice good radiation protection and safety, and observe local rules and systems of work.
* Comply with departmental IRMER and radiation safety policies and procedures.
* Participate in supervision, training and peer review within area of competence and expertise.
Requirements
* Previous experience working within the acute healthcare sector.
* Experience of customer care, including interaction with challenging customers and situations.
* Ability to undertake I.V. contrast injections.
* A degree or diploma in diagnostic radiography.
* Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
* General radiographic background or training.
* Familiarity with IT systems such as RIS or PACS.
* Knowledge of the healthcare service sector and the systems and processes used.
* Awareness of College of Radiographers and HCPC code of conduct and accountability.
* Knowledge of radiation regulations.
* Successful completion of an approved cannulation course.
* Successful completion of Circle Health Group PGD training and compliance with associated PGD.
* Experience with a mobile GE system.
