As part of continued investment in innovation, they are now seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to join their research and development team, working on early-stage concepts and breakthrough designs.
This Power Electronics Engineer role is focused on innovation, feasibility and performance-led design. As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will explore new topologies, components and architectures, developing and validating concepts before they progress into full product development. This position will suit a Power Electronics Engineer who enjoys pushing technical boundaries and working on problems without predefined solutions.
Power Electronics Engineer – Role & Responsibilities – R&D / Power / Electronics
Research and develop new power electronics concepts and architectures
Design and simulate advanced power conversion circuits and systems
Explore high-efficiency DC/DC, AC/DC and inverter topologies
Evaluate and apply advanced semiconductor technologies including SiC and GaN
Build, test and validate experimental prototypes
Analyse performance, efficiency, thermal behaviour and reliability
Collaborate with systems, controls and hardware engineers during early development
Support the transition of successful concepts into formal product development
Power Electronics Engineer – Skills & Experience – R&D / Power Electronics
Strong background in power electronics research or advanced development
Experience designing and analysing power conversion circuits
Proficiency with simulation and modelling tools (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM)
Understanding of high-power PCB design and layout considerations
5+ years’ experience in power electronics or closely related fields
Curious, analytical mindset with a passion for innovation
