A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong PE and Sports background to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident practitioner who is passionate about promoting physical education, healthy lifestyles, and positive learning experiences across the primary age range.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
1. Deliver high-quality PE and sports sessions across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
2. Support teaching and learning across the wider curriculum when required
3. Lead small group interventions and whole-class sessions
4. Promote teamwork, resilience, and pupil wellbeing through sport
5. Assist with school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular clubs
6. Work closely with teachers and senior leaders to support pupil progress
7. Provide classroom cover when necessary
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
8. A recognised UK HLTA qualification or higher (essential)
9. Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting
10. A strong background in PE, sports coaching, or physical education
11. Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
12. The ability to engage and inspire children of all abilities
13. A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude
14. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
