Job Description
A new opportunity has arisen for a Garment Technologist within softs and tailoring. My client is a successful supplier to several leading retailers and supermarkets in the UK and are looking for anexperienced technologist to join their team, someone who is happy to lead fit meetings and does accurate technical packs for the factories. Must be computer literate and used to working PLM systems.
Knowledge of production in Bangladesh would be beneficial.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
1. Responsible for approval of garments and advising on all aspects on fit, construction and quality related issues.
2. Attending fit meetings with customers and translating the comments to overseas factories
3. Creating size specifications and technical packs for issue to factories.
4. Working closely within internal design, sampling, sales and merchandising teams, and to develop strong working relationships with customers own technical teams.
5. Writing fit comments accurately and sending to overseas factories
6. Liaise regularly with customers regarding fit comments, specs/requirements
7. Creating production specifications
8. Communicate all the information to offshore factories.
Person Specification
9. Previous experience working across softs and tailoring
10. Knowledge of working with High Street Multiples
11. Tesco experience and understanding of systems highly advantageous
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
13. Good understanding of garment construction
14. Ability to work under pressure and to key deadlines on the Critical Path
15. Able to give clear concise written comments to factories
