Building Services Mechanical Engineer
Location: RAF Mildenhall, IP28 8NF
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:30)
Contract: Permanent

We're looking for a Building Services Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of high‑quality technical services at RAF Mildenhall, working across a diverse range of mechanical systems in a secure and operational environment.
You'll be part of a skilled engineering team responsible for keeping critical building services running safely, efficiently and in line with contractual and statutory requirements.
Role responsibilities
1. Deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical assets.
2. Diagnose faults and complete repairs within agreed response times, ensuring accurate completion of all documentation.
3. Maintain plant rooms, equipment and systems in line with compliance standards and Mitie procedures.
4. Work closely with colleagues, supervisors, subcontractors and the client to support safe and effective service delivery.
5. Always promote high standards of health, safety and customer service.
Required qualifications
6. City & Guilds Level 3 in relevant mechanical disciplines.
7. Full UK driving licence.
8. Proven experience working in a multi‑skilled building services or mechanical maintenance role.
Desirable qualifications
9. Unvented hot water qualification, with experience maintaining hot water and heating systems, chillers, air conditioning or refrigeration plant.
10. HVAC‑related certification such as City & Guilds (F‑Gas) or equivalent, and/or recognised gas qualifications.

11. Strong working knowledge of mechanical building services, including heating, ventilation, cooling and water systems.
12. Confident fault‑finding skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
13. Good understanding of health & safety legislation and safe systems of work.
14. Comfortable using IT systems to update records and complete compliance documentation.
15. A professional, flexible team player who takes pride in high‑quality service delivery.

This role is subject to MOD Security Clearance and DBS checks. You will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years (CTC) or 5 years (SC). Proof of right to work in the UK is required.
