Teaching Assistant - EYFS / KS1 (SEN Support)

Mainstream Primary School in Crewe Start Date: ASAP Astro Education is proud to be working in close partnership with a
warm, inclusive and supportive mainstream primary school in Crewe
to recruit a
dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is patient, nurturing and committed to supporting young children with additional needs within a mainstream school setting. About the Role & Children You will be supporting a
small group of approximately 10 children, from
Reception to Year 2, all of whom have
significant developmental delay. Some children are
pre-verbal, and several present with
Autism. The children are taught within a carefully structured environment led by a
class teacher, supported by
two Teaching Assistants
(this role being one of them) and a
Welfare Assistant. Although this is a
mainstream school, the provision is calm, well-resourced and thoughtfully organised to meet the children's individual needs while remaining closely connected to the wider school community. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Support children
1:1 and in small groups Help develop
communication, interaction and early learning skills Support emotional regulation, routines and transitions Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team Create a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment Support personal care where required, always with dignity and respect Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with
EYFS / KS1 children Has experience of, or a strong interest in, supporting children with
Autism and developmental delay Is calm, patient, flexible and emotionally attuned Understands the importance of
consistency, routine and relationship-based practice Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively Experience in
SEN, Autism or Early Years
is highly desirable, but
attitude, empathy and commitment
