National Account Manager (B2B) – Chicken
Remote (Field-based with national travel)
£65,000 + car allowance + benefits
We’re working with a well-established food business that’s expanding its reach across the protein category. As part of this growth, we’re looking for an experienced National Account Manager to take full commercial ownership of the steamed cooked chicken category across food manufacturers and foodservice operators.
This is a hands-on, commercial role blending new business development with deep customer partnership. You’ll be selling into some of the most innovative and fast-paced areas of UK food – from meal kits and QSR operators to manufacturers of ready meals, pizzas, salads, and more.
With strong leadership, a clear direction, and ambitious growth plans already in motion, this is the perfect time to join and shape the next phase of expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Win and grow customers across industrial manufacturing and foodservice sectors
* Lead the full sales cycle – prospecting, briefings, costings, trials, proposals, and onboarding
* Own tenders, frameworks, quotations, and pricing strategy
* Build JBPs and deliver volume, margin, and mix targets
* Translate trends into product opportunities – formats like diced, strips, shredded, chilled/frozen, flavoured, and clean label
* Present category reviews and insight-driven sell-in decks to customers
* Collaborate with Technical, NPD, QA, Supply Chain, and Ops to deliver tailored customer solutions
* Ensure full compliance with food safety standards including BRCGS, HACCP, allergen management, and traceability
What we’re looking for:
* 5+ years’ experience in B2B food sales, ideally in cooked poultry or value-added proteins
* Strong network across industrial food manufacturers and/or foodservice operators
* Experience with tenders, pricing, spec creation, and technical/NPD collaboration
* Ability to translate commercial opportunities into compelling category propositions
* Confident managing volume forecasts, service levels, and profitability by SKU
* Technically credible – able to handle site visits and quality discussions with ease
* Proficient with CRM and reporting tools; strong in Excel and commercial planning
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic business environment that rewards initiative, values product knowledge, and backs its people with strong leadership and commercial ambition.
