Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The individual in this role will assist in the design and analysis of civil and structural engineering projects, including preparing calculations, conducting structural analysis, and utilizing computer-aided design technologies. The Graduate Engineer will support project delivery through effective collaboration with team members, contributing to sustainable and client-focused solutions.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Qualifications
* BEng or MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering plus a minimum of 2 to 3 years post graduate experience
* Knowledge and experience in Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering principles
* Proficiency in performing Calculations and Structural Analysis
* Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
* Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to sustainable engineering practices
* Apply Eurocodes, British Standards, current Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations, and other design codes/information as appropriate.
* Willingness to deliver high-quality designs, drawings, and reports using engineering materials including concrete, steel, masonry, timber, etc., together with soils, foundations and drainage, and in a form that can readily be checked by another member of staff.
* Manage own time sufficiently to ensure project work is delivered in a timely manner.
* Be cooperative in relation to problem solving issues.
* Undertake thorough site investigations, complete inspections, identify potential issues, and solve problems.
* Support other Team Members in management of resources to ensure successful outcomes.
* Represent the company at meetings of the design team as required.
* Support Senior staff to develop realistic and competitive fee proposals for future work.
* Contribute to business development activities and marketing as required for the benefit of Stirling Maynard.
* Undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development and maintain CPD records in accordance with the requirements of the Institution of Structural Engineers and/or the Institution of Civil Engineers.
