When you join Amazon as an Area/Shift Manager, you’ll gain experience leading a large and diverse team to ensure your area of the business keeps pace with demand. In this hands-on role, you’ll learn about the complexity of operations at a global business and what it takes to make everything run seamlessly. A day in the life
You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on maximizing productivity. Your main goals are to promote safety, uphold quality, and maintain shift performance standards. You will oversee process improvements and their implementation. Your day will be varied, including routine team management, operational responsibilities, process improvement initiatives, and contingency planning. You will also serve as a role model and mentor to new managers.
About the team
Amazon Logistics (AMZL) handles last-mile delivery in partnership with third-party distribution. We utilize innovative thinking and continuous improvement to deliver millions of products efficiently. Our goal is to provide a smooth delivery experience and expand global delivery solutions for services like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
Our operations are divided into two areas: the ‘under the roof’ associates who process products for dispatch, and the ‘on the road’ delivery contractors via Amazon Flex. We focus on operational excellence, supporting a diverse workforce, many working overnight shifts, and exploring sustainable delivery options with electric vehicles and new technology.
Minimum qualifications
* University degree (Bachelor's or Master's), completed before start date
* Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English and the local language
* Relevant experience in data analysis
* Experience communicating with stakeholders at various levels, including peers and leadership
* Experience in a logistics environment
* Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
