We are looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician based in the BCUHB East IHC. The role will involve working within the Primary Care and Community services team and the wider IHC, improving patient outcomes in relation to medicines management across all our services and ensuring the patient is at the centre of everything we do.
A flexible and positive approach will be essential, in addition to excellent influencing, problem‑solving and time‑management skills. The post‑holder must be visible, well‑organised and able to facilitate and engage others to understand the benefits of the safe, effective and economic use of medicines.
Responsibilities
* Provide pharmacy services across the IHC hospitals, GP practices and other clinical and non‑clinical areas in the East as needed.
* Undertake medicines reconciliation, medication audits and support structured medication reviews.
* Lead and contribute to quality improvement work in medicines optimisation, safety and best practice in primary care.
* Work closely with a clinical area such as antimicrobial stewardship or homecare.
* Communicate with a range of colleagues and health‑care professionals, including interpretation of data and management of interface issues with acute and community organisations.
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services with BTEC National Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
* Knowledge and understanding of medicines optimisation, safety and best practice in primary care.
* Ability to manage interface issues with acute and community organisations.
* Excellent interpretation and communication skills.
Additional Qualifications (Desirable)
* Accredited Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician Qualification or willingness to undertake this qualification.
* Welsh speaker (Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome to apply).
