SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay: £85–£100 per day (PAYE)

We’re working with a friendly primary school in South Leeds who are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across the school. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where relationships come first and small wins mean everything.
You’ll be working closely with pupils who may have autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social and emotional challenges, supporting them in the classroom and beyond.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
2. Helping children access learning in a way that works for them
3. Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and positive behaviour
4. Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO
5. Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement
6. Being a calm, reassuring presence throughout the school day
This role is for you if you:
7. Have experience supporting children with SEN, in schools or other settings
8. Are patient, nurturing, and emotionally resilient
9. Understand that progress looks different for every child
10. Build strong relationships and celebrate the small steps
11. Bring warmth, consistency, and a sense of humour to your day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
