The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food preparation. Duties
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and utensils
* Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking
* Support cooking staff by preparing basic ingredients and assisting in cooking when required
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use
* Help maintain stock levels by receiving and storing deliveries appropriately
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff
* Assist with serving during busy periods, providing excellent hospitality to guests
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential
* Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* A keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality
* Excellent teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration
* Good communication skills to effectively interact with kitchen staff
